🖖 vulcan salute Skin Tones — All 5 Variants

The Vulcan salute is Star Trek's famous greeting: “live long and prosper”. Leonard Nimoy based the split-finger gesture on the Jewish priestly blessing he saw as a child in synagogue, and it has become the standard greeting for science-fiction fans everywhere. It is a hand gesture, so all five skin-tone modifiers apply.

The five variants

Every variant copies exactly like the base character: tap a card and the sequence is on your clipboard, ready to paste anywhere. Skin-tone modifiers (U+1F3FB–U+1F3FF) were added to the standard in Unicode 8.0 (2015). vulcan salute itself was added in Emoji E1.0 (2015).

Usage and context

It is a greeting, a farewell and an in-group sign among fans — at conventions, in sci-fi threads and in any message with a Star Trek reference. A modifier makes the salute yours; the yellow default is the generic version. It often lands with “live long and prosper” written out beside it.

Nothing offensive anywhere — just remember it is a fictional-universe gesture, not an everyday sign in any culture outside fandom.
