🤘 sign of the horns Skin Tones — All 5 Variants

The sign of the horns is rock and roll in one hand: the metal salute that Ronnie James Dio popularized on stage and that crowds have returned ever since. It is also the “hook ’em horns” sign of Texas Longhorns sports. The hand carries the whole meaning, so all five skin-tone modifiers apply.

The five variants

Every variant copies exactly like the base character: tap a card and the sequence is on your clipboard, ready to paste anywhere. Skin-tone modifiers (U+1F3FB–U+1F3FF) were added to the standard in Unicode 8.0 (2015). sign of the horns itself was added in Emoji E1.0 (2015).

Usage and context

It lives at concerts, in rock and metal threads and in playful “rock on” messages. A modified version makes the horns yours; the yellow default is the generic salute. It pairs with guitar and music emoji and appears constantly in fan posts and set-list reactions.

Regional caveat: in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Brazil the horns gesture is the traditional “cornuto” — a sign implying cuckoldry, also used to ward off the evil eye. The emoji reads as rock music in most online contexts, but the cultural reading is different in those countries.
